Udonis Haslem will return to the Miami Heat

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade took a pay-cut to make it happen and late Monday afternoon; veteran power forward Udonis Haslem announced he’s coming back to the Heat. The 7-year veteran confirmed his decision in a text message to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
“Turned down full mid-level from Dallas and Denver. See U next season,” Miami Heat’s #40 Haslem texted.
Haslem was rumored to be a prime target of the Mavericks, Nuggets, Jazz, and Knicks along with other teams. He could have signed for $34 million over five years based on his years in the league.
Haslem will sign a four-year deal with the Heat, though the Sun-Sentinel said contract details were still being worked out late Monday afternoon.
Haslem repeatedly said he wanted to remain with the Heat. His presence, along with the new core of Wade, Chris Bosh, and LeBron James, give the Heat a very powerful starting core to work with.
Haslem can knock down jumpers and is a solid rebounder; both things the Heat need, especially coming off the bench. The Heat are also expected to re-sign Joel Anthony, a center who is currently a restricted free agent.
The Heat also are linked to Cleveland Cavaliers free-agent center Zydrunas Ilgauskas.
