Air Jordan Flight SC-1 – Black – Red – Grey

Air Jordan fans have had quite a bit to look forward to this year with the Jordan Flight SC-1 being one of them. The mashed up basketball sneaker is back sporting a fairly familiar color way.
This spotting sports a mainly black upper that also has hits of grey and red to help balance it out. With an upper that is made of everything from patent leather to mesh these seem to place a heavy emphasis on lifestyle and thats not a bad thing at all. Look for these in stores soon. Via Kinstor

Gucci New Releases

Whether you willing to spend the money are not, Gucci has often come through with compelling designs in their sneaker collection. The most recent additions to the Gucci line are a high top and a low top sneaker. The high top sports a black sole that slips into a dark army green leather accented upper and uses original Gucci print throughout the rest of the shoe. The low top come sin brown leather and sorts the original green/red Gucci stripe on the midpanel. They are available now from Cncpts as well as other Gucci retailers.

Lacoste Stealth Inagro LB Collection

Look for Lacoste to release a stealth collection this upcoming Fall, which will consist of several colorways in the Lacoste Stealth Inagro shoe. Each version features an upper constructed from heavy canvas, along with minimal premium leather accents, which can be seen on the tongue, insoles, and shoe laces. A small but noticeable detail is the use of rectangular shapes for the shoe lacing eyelets, as opposed to the classic round look. Stay tuned in for more updates as we received them.

Heat launch site aimed at keeping Wade

MIAMI -- Send dessert to Dwyane Wade's table or start a standing ovation. Don't ask for a car or display your D-Wade tattoo.
These, and other tips for Miami Heat fans, are now available on a website -- www.wewantwade.com -- unveiled Thursday by the team with hopes of keeping the 2006 NBA Finals MVP in South Florida for years to come.
"We want to show Wade the love," the website says.

Wade I thought it was hilarious. ... But I appreciate it. I do, I really do.
-- Dwyane Wade
Wade learned of the Heat's web campaign Thursday morning, shortly after the team's marketing department launched the new site -- which was already getting posts from fans within a few minutes of going live.
"I thought it was hilarious," Wade said. "But I appreciate it. I do, I really do."
The former league scoring champion will exercise his right to become a free agent, and he'll be clear to talk with other teams at 12:01 a.m. ET July 1. He has said many times that his preference is to stay with the Heat, which can offer him a deal for six years and worth about $127 million -- more years and more money than any other club could offer.
Signing him, of course, is the Heat's top priority for the offseason.
The website touts itself as the "place to show your support for our MV3 and to help keep Dwyane Wade in Wade County! ... And we'll be adding things right up to the start of the free agency period, so check back often for the latest D.Wade info, events, downloads and more."
Wade said he didn't expect a website in his honor, but has learned not to be surprised by any approach when it comes to his future. Everywhere he goes, he's asked by fans where he'll play next season -- and, more often than not, begged to sign in their city.
"You get a lot of people respectful of you and you understand that they want you to be in the city -- whatever city that is," Wade said. "They express that opinion no matter where you go. I'll never be surprised of anyone who says it."
The site was an instant hit: The Heat said it was overwhelmed quickly after launch, and the team said it would be switching to larger servers to handle the interest.
Free agency is only one significant issue for Wade this summer.
He's embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody case in Chicago, and in Miami, is facing a lawsuit brought by former partners in a failed restaurant deal. Wade is also seeking damages from those partners over use of his likeness, and other suits involving plans to sell memorabilia and attaching his name to a charter school are pending.
"I've got to continue to try to live my life and enjoy my life, but at the same time, knowing and understanding it's a trying time in my life," Wade said. "For me, this summer right now, it's all about my kids and my family, trying to spend time with my loved ones and getting my mind away from everything that's going on."
That's why little bits of levity -- like this new Heat website, or even the reaction in Chicago about what he wore to a hearing there involving the divorce and custody cases earlier this week -- are welcomed by Wade.
And this won't be the only website designed to woo free agents. Not even close.
Even though the NBA conference finals haven't even started, plenty of eyes are already on the looming offseason personnel bonanza, when Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh are expected to headline the deepest crop of superstar free agents in league history.
In New York, The Daily News has launched www.getlebron.com -- replete with a photo of James in Knicks colors. On Facebook, there's a page called "The Official Pitch: Keep LeBron James in Cleveland 2010," and Bosh created a stir in Toronto and around the league last month by asking his Twitter followers "Should I stay or should I go?"
It became big news in Chicago on Monday when Wade -- who will likely be courted by the Bulls this summer -- showed up for court in red and black.
Red and black are Bulls colors.
"I thought it was Heat colors," Wade said. "Always looking for an angle, everyone. I just laugh at it and keep it moving."

Shannon signs deal with Miami

Randy Shannon routinely would hear the same question on the recruiting trail. Players and parents alike, they couldn't figure out why Miami was winning more games, yet the football coach wasn't getting rewarded with a new contract.
That's not a problem anymore.
Shannon has signed a new four-year contract to remain as the Hurricanes' coach, ending a negotiating process that began more than a year ago and included an undisclosed raise over the approximate $1.2 million he made last season.

"I'm here, and it's going to be for the long term," Shannon said in an interview Thursday morning with The Associated Press. "For recruiting purposes, now people will see that instead of us telling them that."
The university announced Shannon had signed a new deal Wednesday night. The sides came to an agreement in principle last week.
"We are very proud of the positive steps our football program has taken under the leadership of Coach Shannon," Miami athletic director Kirby Hocutt said in a statement announcing the contract. "With a commitment to excellence in the classroom, in the community, and in competition, we are well on our way, once again, to the top of the college football world."
Shannon has gone 21-17 in his three seasons, winning five games in 2007, seven in 2008 and nine in 2009. The 2010 season was to be Shannon's last under his current deal, and there was some thought he could wind up taking a chance -- coaching this fall with no guarantees, basically betting that a breakout season this fall could net him a big payday.
Turns out, risk like that wasn't needed for reward.
"The biggest issue I heard recruiting last year was 'Coach, you changed it around so why won't they give you a contract extension?' " Shannon said. "There were schools saying 'They don't want him there,' and no matter how much I said they do want me here, there were recruits and parents who weren't seeing that part."
They'll see it now, as clear as the black ink and white paper on which the new contract was printed.
"Coach Shannon continues to bring together a special group of young men who will position our program for championship success," Hocutt said.
Getting this deal done was a top priority for Hocutt, who raves about Shannon for a number of reasons, perhaps most significantly the way the Hurricanes have excelled academically on his watch.
There's been few significant off-field disciplinary issues since Shannon took over, and the football program ranks among the national leaders in the Academic Progress Rates scores charted by the NCAA.
On Wednesday, Miami was recognized by the NCAA for having a multiyear APR score in the top 10 percent.
And under Shannon, the on-field product is getting better, too.
He went 5-7 in 2007, the first season after taking over from Larry Coker, then rebounded to go 7-6 and reach the Emerald Bowl one season later.
The Hurricanes easily beat eventual Atlantic Coast Conference champion Georgia Tech last season, plus topped Florida State and Oklahoma in two other tests, then closed at 9-4 after falling to Wisconsin in the Champs Sports Bowl.
There are plenty of pieces in place to make 2010 even better.
Quarterback Jacory Harris (3,352 yards, 24 TDs) will be back for his second season as a starter. Running back Damien Berry is poised to take over in the backfield, and the Hurricanes might have the deepest crop of receivers in the nation, led by senior Leonard Hankerson and speedster Travis Benjamin.
Defensively, lineman Allen Bailey already is being talked about as a first-rounder in the 2011 NFL draft. Linebacker Colin McCarthy is returning for his senior season, and fellow linebacker Sean Spence could be among the ACC's best.
Shannon got them all to come to Miami. The way the Hurricanes see it, it's time for that potential to finally start paying off.
"My attorney kept telling me, be patient, not take it personal, it's business," Shannon said. "It was business. I'm glad it's done."

Jordan Rare Air Red/Black Cement

Are you warming up to the Jordan Rare Air or do you cringe whenever new photos surface? When we showed you this new Jordan Rare Air colorway yesterday, a lot of you really fell in love with the colorway; yet, you weren’t too sold on the silhouette as of now.
The Jordan Rare Air is similar to the Jordan Spizike and the Jordan 60+ in that it borrows design cues from a number of Air Jordan sneakers within MJ’s signature line. In addition to the overall silhouette mimicking the Air Jordan IV, this particular colorway owns a cement grey speckled midsole much like Jordan’s fourth signature sneaker. The mainly black suede upper, along with the monochromatic cement prints attributes (heel, toe), coincide nicely with the fire red hints on the sole, lacelock and tongue. Now that we have shown you photo after photo of the newly-designed Jordan Rare Air, what is your final thoughts on this sneaker. Look for the Jordan Rare Air to hit retailers during the holiday season of 2010.

Had to do it for my dawg Millz!Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Miller High Life’

The other day when we got a look at an unreleased Mickey’s Malt Liquor flavored Nike Lucky Bee Dunk and while the shoes are all ages the theme is definitely for the 21 and up set. Well it turns out that another recent design was devoted to the suds also.
The Dunk being touted as the Marvin the Martian actually draws its inspiration from Miller High Life aka the Champagne of Beers. The color scheme comes from the bottles label and the perforations in the leather are actually supposed to represent the carbonation in the beer. These are available now and the good thing is you don’t need an I.D. to cop. Via Nicekicks

R.I.P, to Lena Horne

Lena Horne, the ground-breaking singer, actress and civil rights activist who, in 1942, became the first African-American performer to be put under contract by a major studio, died on Sunday, May 9, at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York.  She was 92. According to the New York Times, Horne’s death was announced by her son-in-law, Kevin Buckley.
Though her movie career spanned nearly six decades and included a smattering of well-regarded films, like Stormy Weather (1943), Ziegfeld Follies (1946), and Meet Me in Las Vegas (1956), Horne was best known for her singing. Her music highpoints include blockbuster collaborations with Tony Bennett, Grammy-winning recordings of her Vegas nightclub act (1981′s The Lady and Her Music, Live on Broadway, and 1995′s An Evening With Lena Horne), and her Tony-nominated performance in the Broadway musical, Calypso. Horne grew up in an upper-middle-class African American enclave of Brooklyn, raised primarily by her grandparents after age 3, when both her parents left the family. By the time she was 16, Horne had scored a regular singing gig at Manhattan’s Cotton Club. Her knack for dramatic flourish and romantic renditions of jazz standards led to appearances on TV variety shows including The Ed Sullivan Show and The Dean Martin Show, as well as a role in the big-screen musical, The Duke Is Tops (1938). Though she never found the substantial, satisfying work she sought on film, Horne did make an impact, later in life, on TV in recurring roles on The Muppet Show and The Cosby Show.
Throughout her career, Horne was equally dedicated to her advocacy for civil rights. She was an early pioneer in the movement for equality, fighting for desegregation alongside such legends of the movement as Paul Robeson and Medgar Evers. She also fought with first lady Eleanor Roosevelt to pass anti-lynching laws. The combination of Horne’s disarming talent and fierce individuality created a powerful force in breaking down racial barriers in Hollywood and beyond.
Horne is survived by her daughter, Gail Lumet Buckley. Horne’s husband and her son both died in 1971, the latter of kidney failure.
