Bodega x Lacoste Esteban

Drawing inspiration from traditional Native American artwork and materials, the team at Bodega went to work on a Lacoste Esteban and came out with the sneaker we see here.
Luxurious brown nubuck covers the entire upper, displaying a monochromatic and rustic aesthetic. Along the mid-panel, an embroidered Lacoste crocodile logo appears in a similar tan hue. The liner features a dreamcatcher-inspired print in tans and browns. The metal eyelets are a dark teal hue, furthering the Bodega Bay Native American design relationship. You can grab a pair from this limited run of 250 on April 3rd from hanon.

Is Miami about to blow up? As if they aint already there

In case you missed it, be sure to check out colleague Bruce Feldman's take on the Miami Hurricanes. Feldman went to Miami practice on Friday and says the team has the look of a powerhouse again.

Feldman says the team looks loaded with athletes at all positions, even offensive line, and that former players are saying the same thing. Check out this passage:

"This looks like what Miami is supposed to look like," said one UM player from the '90s, pointing at a group of the Canes' towering wideouts. "It hasn't been like this for a while, but we're ready now. Just look at them."

Andreu Swasey, the team's longtime strength coach and the guy who is more qualified to say when a team is ripe than maybe anyone at UM, beamed as he spoke about not only the athleticism, but also the work ethic and maturity of this team.

I'm not ready to anoint Miami as a national title front-runner just yet, although after seeing this team up close, it made me think a little harder about the Canes.

I normally cover the Big East, and I'll be interested to see Miami twice this season, against Pitt and South Florida. Since I'm the visitor here today what do you think about Miami's outlook in 2010?

Redskins Sign Buchanon- Former Miami Hurricane!

The Redskins have signed free agent cornerback Phillip Buchanon, the team announced on Monday.
Buchanon, an 8-year NFL veteran, visited Redskins Park on Monday and signed his contract.
Buchanon immediately jumps into the mix at cornerback. DeAngelo Hall and Carlos Rogers are the incumbent starters at the position and Justin Tryon and Kevin Barnes provide youth at the position.
Along with playing cornerback, Buchanon has also returned kickoffs and punts in his career. He could be added to the mix at punt returns, something he excelled at early in his career.
“We are very excited to add a veteran corner, such as Phillip, to our defensive backfield,” executive vice president/head coach Mike Shanahan said. “He has had a lot of success in this league and brings with him the ability to create turnovers.
"He will be a big part of what we are trying to accomplish defensively in Washington.”
Buchanon, 5-11 and 186 pounds, played for the Detroit Lions last season and logged 43 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles and four passes defended.
He has also had NFL stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders.
For his career, Buchanon has posted 339 tackles and 18 interceptions, five of which he returned for touchdowns. He also has one career sack and six forced fumbles.

His best season was 2003, his sophomore campaign, in which he started 10-of-16 games and had 42 tackles and a career-high six interceptions.
On special teams, Buchanon has returned 118 career punts for a 9.1-yard average. In his rookie year, he had an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown. The following year, he had an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown.
He has returned nine career kickoffs for a 16.2-yard average.
Buchanon, a native of Fort Myers, Fla., entered the NFL as a first-round draft pick (17th overall) of the Raiders.
He played college football at the University of Miami, where he was a teammate of current Redskins Clinton Portis and Santana Moss, as well as the late Sean Taylor.

ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL Sells Out Two Days With Record Breaking Numbers With Over 100,000 in Attendance

WINNER OF THE IDMA ‘BEST MUSIC EVENT’ AWARD FOR THE FIFTH YEAR RUNNING ‘In recent years, the Ultra Music Festival has evolved into a massive showcase for the more eclectic side of dance music during the Winter Music Conference. While most hotel pool parties and nightclub events mainly feature the world’s top DJs pumping out fresh and innovative electronic beats, Ultra’s lineup offers the extra dimension of cutting-edge live acts.’ – Mike Hamersly, Miami Herald (3/27/10)
MIAMI, March 30 — This past weekend, Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27, over 100,000 music enthusiasts descended on Miami’s Bicentennial Park for the 12th annual ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL (UMF), drawing its largest attendance numbers ever for its first sold-out show as a two-day event. This astounding number also marks the first time ever an event has sold out, let alone for two days, at Bicentennial Park. The festival was also the recipient of an IDMA (International Dance Music Award) for “Best Music Event” for its fifth year in a row.
Wrote Askhay Bahnsali of MTV News (3/27/10) about UMF, the world’s leading two-day electronic and alternative music experience, “Dance music’s biggest weekend in America kicked off with a series of powerful performances…With a multitude of stages (and even a Heineken-inspired dome), the weekend’s lineup is probably UMF’s largest and most star-studded grouping yet.” Over 200 international leading electronic music performers, DJs and cutting-edge bands alongside Miami regional artists performed over the two-day extravaganza.
In addition to the festival’s stellar line-up spearheaded by Friday mainstage headliner Tiesto and Saturday’s headliner Deadmau5, the success of UMF can be attributed to its multi-million dollar production created by Florida festival producer Ray Steinman and Steve Lieberman of SJ Lighting who helped the festival’s promoters — Alex Omes, Russell Faibisch and Adam Russakoff — to generate over 10 stages of high-caliber music areas. Over 1.4 million people in 178 countries logged on to watch a stream of two of the festival’s stages. During that time, 65,000 chat messages were exchanged about it.
States UMF promoter Russell Faibisch, “We are thrilled about the amazing turnout for this year’s ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL. It’s been an incredible 12 years.” “We remember the early days when we were on the beach and being very happy when 11,000 people showed up. I want to thank God, all our fans and our incredible staff for making this Ultra so special,” adds UMF Promoter Alex Omes. “The production, artists and everything else that’s gone into the festival has only gotten bigger and better. Thank you to Ray, Steve and everyone who has supported us,” says UMF Promoter Adam Russakoff.
Highlights of ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL encompassed several guest appearances. On Friday (March 26), France’s David Guetta was joined by Lil Jon, LMFAO and the Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am and Apl.de.ap, while Felix Da Housecat welcomed Sean “Diddy” Combs. On Saturday (March 27), chanteuse Kelis guested with Benny Benassi for their song “Spaceship” and the Guetta-produced track “Acapella”; Florence from Florence and the Machine graced the stage during Swedish House Mafia’s set; and drummer Tommy Lee along with vocalist Sofia Toufa joined Deadmau5 to debut a brand-new untitled song during his closing set. Other special guests in attendance were singer Macy Gray and TV personality Kelly Bensimon of “The Real Housewives of New York.”
