Legendary singer Teena Marie passes away – was supposed to perform for NYE this Friday in Miami
Legendary singer Teena Marie has passed away at the age of 54. You may remember her for songs like “Square Biz” and her relationship with Rick James. She died in her sleep yesterday December 26, 2010 in her home and was discovered by her 19 year old daughter. This comes after they spent a very joyous Christmas holiday together, so its a bit of a shock.
Not only that, but Teena was supposed to perform in Miami this Friday with Maze featuring Frankie Beverly at the James L. Knight Center. No word on the status of the concert.
Condolences to the family and those who knew her personally.

Foamposite Nike Air Force 1 New Photos
The Metallic Silver Foamposite Nike Air Force 1, a sneaker that released this past summer, received both positive and negative reviews from sneaker enthusiasts. However, it seems as if most people like the Black Foamposite Nike Air Force 1 more. Although the shoe is set to release in the latter part of November, it is already starting to hit overseas retailers now. The glossy, black foamposite shell contrasts very nicely with the icy, translucent sole. Also, additional black features appear in the form of the suede midfoot, the ankle strap and the black shoelaces. View detailed photos below.

Custom Kicks – Halo Nike Dunk Low
ST!ZO has outdone himself this time around, transforming Microsoft’s cult classic video game, HALO, into a Nike Dunk Low. Done for a professional HALO gamer for his upcoming Vegas competition, the custom kicks were designed by ST!ZO using a light draft from the owner. Inspired by the battle armor worn by Master Chief, the shoes use Military Green all over the upper, with Charcoal and Gold accents seen throughout. With a mix of wrinkled and smooth leather, the shoes maintain the traditional Nike branding alongside the NYC tongue tag, seen in Bright Orange.

Rolling Stone Gives Kanye West's New CD 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' A 5 Star Classic Rating.
Kanye West has made a masterpiece with his 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' album.
Rolling Stone writer Reb Sheffield has given the album the highest rating of 5 stars. Check out his review below.
When Kanye West sings about "jerk-offs that’ll never take work off," you’d best believe he means himself. Being crazy is this guy’s job, and judging from the sound of his music, business is booming. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is his most maniacally inspired music yet, coasting on heroic levels of dementia, pimping on top of Mount Olympus. Yeezy goes for the grandeur of stadium rock, the all-devouring sonics of hip-hop, the erotic gloss of disco, and he goes for all of it, all the time. Nobody halfway sane could have made this album.
Last time, Kanye went minimal for the electro melancholia of 808s & Heartbreak. But on Fantasy, he gets ridiculously maximal, blowing past all the rules of hip-hop and pop, even though, for the past half-decade, he’s been the one inventing the rules. There are hip-hop epics, R&B ballads, alien electronics, prog-rock samples, surprise guests from Bon Iver to Fergie to Chris Rock, even a freaking Elton John piano solo. It’s his best album, but it’s more than that — it’s also a rock-star manifesto for a downsizing world. At a time when we all get hectored about lowering our expectations, surrendering our attention spans, settling for less, West wants us to demand more.
Nobody else is making music this daring and weird, from the spooky space funk of "Gorgeous" to the King Crimson-biting "Power" to the paranoid staccato strings of "Monster." Nearly six minutes into "Runaway," long after the song has already sealed itself in your brain, the sound cuts out and you think it’s over. Then there’s a plinking piano, the feedback of an electric guitar plugging in, some "Strawberry Fields"-style cellos and Yeezy himself singing a poignant Robert Fripp-style solo through his vocoder. There’s no way it should work, but it keeps rolling for three more minutes without breaking the spell.
Coming off a string of much-publicized emotional meltdowns, Yeezy is taking a deeper look inside the dark corners of his twisted psyche. He has sex and romance on his mind, but he comes clean about his male angst like never before. In confessions like "Runaway" and "Blame Game," he honestly struggles to figure out why he has to be such a d********. Yet the songs are also his funniest ever, with Kanye showing off lethal wit on the mic: In "Dark Fantasy," he rhymes "mercy, mercy me, that Murcielago" with "diablo," "bravado" and "My chick in that new Phoebe Philo/So much head, I woke up in Sleepy Hollow."
There’s a famous story about Queen making "Bohemian Rhapsody": Whenever the band thought the song was finished, Freddie Mercury would say, "I’ve added a few more ‘Galileos’ here, dear." But nobody can out-Galileo Kanye. With Fantasy, he makes everybody else on the radio sound laughably meek, but he’s also throwing down a challenge to the audience. Kanye West thinks you’re a moron if you settle for artists who don’t push as hard as he does. And that means pretty much everybody.

“Foamposite” Jordan 6 Rings – Black Metallic
Foamposite strikes again and an unlikely candidate is renovated along the way. The last Jordan 6 Rings release was the 3M version and that was definitely a walk on the wild side but this time the sneaker given a Foamposite like make over.
This Foamposite Jordan 6 Rings features a Black Metallic mudguard that gives the sneaker a very interesting look. The rest of the sneakers construction is built up in black suede and there is an iced outsole along the shoes bottom that works well in the overall theme. Specific release information is still pending but we will keep you posted. Via marqueesole

Lil Wayne Prepares Comeback, Writing "Furiously"
(AllHipHop News) Lil Wayne is writing furiously in anticipation of his post-prison return to Hip-Hop, family and the free world.
“He hasn’t written out rhymes since the Hot Boys,” Birdman told Rolling Stone in the November edition of the magazine. “There’s a different swagger coming from Wayne, different things to talk about.”
Lil Wayne has served eight months in Rikers Island in New York on weapons charges. The rapper recently was banished to solitary confinement after guards found an mp3 chargers and headphones in his cell, forbidden items considered contraband.
Manager Cortez Bryant said that the new material focus largely on his time incarcerated, life and success.
“He’s had time to take everything in from the years leading up to this to going in,” Bryant said. "He's finally been able to put things in perspective."
When he is released, Birdman aka Baby said Wayne will go straight to the studio to record his new material. Wayne is expected to release Tha Carter IV in early 2011.
“He’s our super superstar, he’s our Michael Jackson.” Birdman said. “We did great while he was gone, and I know we’re going to do even better when he comes home.”
Lil Wayne is set to leave Rikers on Nov. 4. He is expected to spend time with his immediate family and then have a party in Miami.
